Groups of 6 or less.

It is not against the law to meet with people you do not live with in an outdoor setting up to a max of 6 people.

However, we respectfully remind our visitors that current government guidance applying in the North East of England is that people should not meet with people they do not live with or outside their support bubble in any outdoor public venues, which includes STACK Newcastle.

Groups of more than 6.

To comply with Government regulations, STACK Newcastle may only host groups of more than 6 if all group members are from the same household (or are members of two linked households). This must be confirmed on bookings or walk-ups. We reserve the right to ask group leaders and members for proof of address.

FAQ's

In relation to the current Government COVID regulations and guidelines.

1. Is STACK classed as an outdoor venue?

YES - all of our communal seating areas within the plaza on the ground floor and the gallery on the upper floor areas are classed as outdoor space in line with Government regulations.

2. Are there any exceptions?

YES - Hadrian’s Tipi is classed as an indoor venue – therefore the rules on indoor gatherings apply – see Q?? for more info on visiting the Tipi.

3. Can I meet with up to 6 people from different households in the outside areas of STACK?

It is not against the law to meet with people you do not live with in an outdoor setting. However, current Government guidance in the North East is that people shouldn’t meet with people they do not live with, unless they’re in your support bubble, in any outdoor public venue, which would include STACK.

4. There are more than 6 people in my household/support bubble, can we visit STACK together?

YES - to comply with Government regulations, we can only host groups of more than 6 if all group members are from the same household/support bubble. This must be confirmed on booking and on entry, and we reserve the right to ask for proof of identity and/or address.

5. What regulations are in place for visiting Hadrian’s Tipi?

Hadrian’s Tipi is a pop-up indoor venue within STACK Newcastle operating with 100% table service. To comply with the current regulations on indoor gatherings groups of 2 or more must be from the same household/support bubble. This must be confirmed on booking and entry, and on entry we reserve the right to ask for proof of identity and/or address.

PLEASE NOTE:
The maximum number of people per group that can be accommodated inside Hadrian’s Tipi is 6 due to space and table sizes.

6. What proof of address will be accepted for groups of more than 6 people outside (or 2 people or more in Hadrian’s Tipi)?

We apply a common-sense approach to checking that these groups consist of the same household/support bubble. We appreciate that not everyone carries documents with their home addresses on - we may ask questions that we consider to be reasonably appropriate and would encourage group leaders to have identity documents or other proofs of address available if they are needed.

7. Do I have to download the NHS Test & Trace App to gain entry to STACK?

NO - downloading and using the NHS Test & Trace App is voluntary. We display the NHS Test & Trace QR code at the entrances to STACK and we would ask visitors who have access to a smart phone to scan and log their details to support the Government’s test & trace initiative.

8. If I don’t use the NHS Test & Trace App, do I have to provide my contact details on entry?

YES – current regulations state that we must still record the relevant information for the head of each group visiting. This information will be taken manually upon entering STACK if it hasn’t already been provided at the time of booking.

9. Can you refuse entry if I do not wish to provide my personal details?

YES - we are required by Government regulations to refuse entry to any visitor who does not provide details for Test & Trace, either via the NHS Track & Trace App or manually.

10. Will my data be used for marketing purposes?

NO – all data collected is for the purpose of Test & Trace only. Records will be stored securely for 21 days and will then be destroyed.

11. Do I need to wear a mask when visiting STACK?

Masks are not compulsory outdoors but must be worn indoors unless you have a reasonable excuse under the Face Covering Regulations not to wear a face covering. Although STACK is an outdoor premise there are indoor areas including toilets and Hadrian’s Tipi where you will be required to abide by the indoor regulations on wearing masks. Masks may be removed when seated at tables for the purposes of eating or drinking.

12. Can I join another group, if I see someone I know in STACK?

NO - we are obliged to take all reasonable measures to ensure no person joins another group.

13. Can I sing and dance at my table?

NO - current regulations require STACK to take all reasonable measures to stop singing and dancing on the premises by customers.

14. Can I go to the bar to order drinks?

NO – it is a requirement that we provide table service, therefore food & drink can either be ordered through an app or via our waiting staff.
